CORE BELIEFS & BEHAVIORS
“For the eyes of the Lord move
to and fro throughout the earth that
He may strongly support those
whose heart is completely His.”
– 2 Chronicles 16:9
-
In all situations, circumstances, issues, conversations & decisions we are to be led by the Holy Spirit and not by the flesh or outside influences.
-
Therefore, brethren, we are debtors – not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. – Romans 8:12-14 (NKJV)
-
-
We are to keep all our emotions and moods crucified with the flesh, and not cast a shifting shadow over the lives of those around us.
-
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. – Galatians 2:20 (NKJV)
-
-
We are to be good stewards over the word we give and to be dependable and reliable to all 100% of the time.
-
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. – Hebrews 13:8 (NKJV)
-
-
We will uphold the Word of God with the utmost honor and respect, using the wisdom from the Word in every aspect of our everyday lives.
-
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks in the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the word, this one will be blessed in what he does. – James 1:22-25 (NKJV)
-
-
When dealing with others we will always treat them as if they are innocent of whatever charges they are being accused of. We will not gossip about others behind their backs or cause division within our relationships; both personally and professionally. If we have a problem or issue with anyone we will first bring this issue to an elder and get a clear perspective through prayer led by the Holy Spirit. Depending on how the Holy Spirit leads will determine the action taken next. Also, if we expect grace to be extended to us then we must extend grace to others first. Each situation will be handled according to how the Holy Spirit leads in a group of two or more elders.
-
So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God. – James 1:19-20 (NKJV)
-
But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift. – Ephesians 4:7 (NKJV)
-
-
A religious spirit will not be tolerated in any way. We must keep each other in check with a gentle spirit.
-
Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin. But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and Prophets testify. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. – Romans 3:20-24
-
-
We are to see everyone that we encounter as we hope that our Heavenly Father would see us. We are to never cause anyone to stumble, or feel as though they are unworthy of the Father’s love.
-
13Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather resolve this, not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brother’s way. 16 Therefore do not let your good be spoken of as evil; 17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18 For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men.
-
-
Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another. 21 It is good neither to eat meat nor drink wine nor do anything by which your brother stumbles or is offended or is made weak.22 Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves. 23 But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin. – Romans 14:13-23 (NKJV)
